ASTM A335 pipes are called chrome molybdenum pipes because they contain high levels of chromium and molybdenum. While molybdenum improves overall strength, resistance, elasticity, hardenability and overall quality, molybdenum ensures that the material is more resistant to softening, inhibits grain growth and reduces the chance of embrittlement. It is the only additive that increases the high temperature resistance (to 540-750°C) and also increases the corrosion resistance of the steel.


ASTM A335 has good tensile strength, good high temperature and corrosion resistance. Chromium is a key ingredient used to make stainless steel. If the chromium content is above 12%, it can be classified as stainless steel. Even at high temperatures, the antioxidant potential of chromium is irreplaceable. Better hardness, tensile strength and yield strength at standard temperature.
