SA240 TP316L is a specification for stainless steel plate, sheet, and strip for pressure vessels and for general applications. It covers grades of stainless steel such as TP316L, TP304L, TP321, TP347, TP309S, TP310S, and others.

 

The UNS S31603 Plate designation indicates that the plate is made from Grade 316L stainless steel, which is a low-carbon version of 316 stainless steel. The "SA" in SA240 stands for Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, and the number 240 refers to the ASTM A240 standard for stainless steel plate, sheet, and strip.

 

Some of the key properties of UNS S31603 Plate include excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, high-temperature strength, and good formability and weldability.
