Hastelloy G-30 is an improved version of nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-copper alloy G-3. With higher chromium, added cobalt and tungsten, the Hastelloy G-30 Plate shows superior corrosion resistance over most other nickel and iron based alloys in commercial phosphoric acids as well as complex environments containing highly oxidizing acids. The resistance of the DIN 2.4603 Plate to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone makes Hastelloy Sheet suitable for use in most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition.

As a result of its high chromium content, Hastelloy G-30 Plate is also very resistant to other oxidizing acids, such as nitric, and mixtures containing nitric acid. It possesses moderate resistance to reducing acids, such as hydrochloric and sulfuric, as a result of its appreciable molybdenum and copper contents. 2.4603 Hastelloy is available in the form of plates, sheets, strips, billets, bars, wires, pipes, tubes, and covered electrodes. Applications include P2O5 evaporator tubes and nitric acid-based, metal pickling hardware.
